Centaur MC is pleased to announce our contract extension and continuation of Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend…
Please join the Centaur MC in welcoming the judges for Mid-Atlantic Leather 2015!
Joe Birdwell, Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather 2014
I grew up in small town in Tennessee where I spent most of my childhood running through the fields pretending to be Wonder Woman; however I managed to grow up to become an architect. Eventually through a job transfer I landed in Pittsburgh and this is where my leather journey began. It all started when I competed for Mr. Pittsburgh Leather Fetish for the first time. I finished 1st runner up but left feeling like I had been reunited with long lost family. After the contest I became very involved in my new found community. I became a member of Three Rivers Leather Club. It was at this point that I began to volunteer and work for many community organizations. Shepherd Wellness, Metropolitan Ministries, The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Leather pride to name a few. A year had passed and I decided to run for the Pittsburgh title again this time I won and went on to become Mr. MAL 2014 in January.
I have since been relocated to Tampa where I live with my partner Todd and where I am looking forward to putting my roots down and getting involved in the Florida Leather Community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Centaur MC for all of the love and support you have given me the past year. You are amazing and it is because of you Todd and I consider Washington, DC a second home.
Ramien Pierre, International Mr. Leather 2014
Ramien grew up in suburban Philadelphia, PA, and came to Washington, DC in 2001 for a one-year fellowship. In DC, Ramien found himself embraced by a loving community of people working for the forces of good, and that (not his poor sense of direction) made it impossible for him to leave in the 13 years since. DC is also where Ramien had his leather coming-out. Going to the DC Eagle was his first time at a leather bar, and Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend 2009 was his first leather event. Since then Ramien has strengthened his connection to the DC-area leather community. He joined the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of ONYX – a national leather and kink fraternal organization for men of color. He holds the title of International Mr. Leather 2014, Mr. DC Eagle 2014, and while his home bar is making its transition into a new space at 3701 Benning Road SE, Ramien holds the unofficial title of Mr. DC Eagle-in-Exile 2014.
Ramien loves supporting youth and elder charities, because he feels it’s the job of every community to take care of its juniors and seniors. He also enjoys working up a sweat through competitive volleyball, Olympic-style weightlifting, and hot yoga. To relax he enjoys reading, road trips with his boyfriend, and Netflix bingeing. In terms of his kinks, Ramien enjoys early mornings, rope play, and flogging. Ramien’s preferred personal pronouns are “he”, “him” and “his”. His preferred dessert is cake… always cake!
